Supply Compressed Gas Station with Natural Gas
Client: Egypt Gas Co.
Methods: RT
For the infrastructure connecting a high-pressure supply line to a Natural Gas Compressed Station, Synergy provided specialized radiographic inspection services. Compressed gas stations operate under significant pressure cycles, demanding absolute volumetric integrity for all tie-ins and distribution headers to ensure public and operational safety.
The Technical Execution:
Our focus was on providing definitive internal verification for the station’s high-pressure piping network:
* Volumetric Weld Certification (RT): We utilized Radiographic Testing (RT) to inspect 100% of the critical welds within the station's supply perimeter. This allowed for the detection of internal anomalies—such as lack of fusion or inclusions—that could act as stress concentrators under the high-pressure conditions required for gas compression.
* Safety & Compliance: All radiographs were interpreted and archived according to ASME B31.3 and Egypt Gas safety specifications, providing a permanent record of the station’s structural health before commissioning.
The Result:
Synergy’s rigorous RT oversight ensured that the supply line was "fit-for-purpose" and capable of handling the demanding pressure loads of a compressed gas facility. By certifying the integrity of the station’s feed, we enabled Egypt Gas to safely initiate gas delivery to the industrial and transport sectors.
